What we've been up to....

I've realized in the last month that with two kids it's a whole lot harder to leave the house. We've spent lots of days just relaxing at the house and if we do get out it's usually when Kurt gets home. I'm not complaining though, lounging is quite fun! Reese keeps on growing. At her two week check up she was:
Weight: 7lb 10 oz
Height: 20 in. (I was surprised to see that she had grown two inches in two weeks, but at the hospital this past Sunday (story to come next post) she was actually only 19). Guess she really is a shortie.
Ethan still loves her, but we spend a lot of time yelling things like, "Don't touch her!" "Get out of her face!" "Let her sleep!" I guess that's better then finding him carrying her by the neck! He takes good care of her and is always giving her her binki, letting her sleep with every stuffed dog he can find, laying by her so she's not alone while she sleeps, and lots of cute brother things.
We've also finally got some use out of my new jogger. I think we have frequented Yogurt Land and Jamba Juice these last two weeks. It gets us out of the house and the kids like it!
Here is Reese at three weeks. It feels like she is growing so fast!
I guess you could say we are pretty boring!!

Two Weeks

Reese had her two week pictures taken on Monday by my talented sister in law Mindy! I absolutely LOVE how they turned out! Sorry for the picture over load, but I need to show my parents in Japan! :)

Hospital Photo Shoot

If you've had a baby within the last couple of months you know that they now don't take the "mug shot" of your new born baby! You know the one where they are on the awesome hospital blanket two hours after they are born!? Well now they do something much better. I guess a lot of the hospitals are contracted with photographers who actually come to your room and take pictures for you. So here are a few of when they came to take some of Reese. I just got the cd back and was super excited. I'm getting her two week old pictures on Monday, which I can't wait to do, but here are some of her at TWO days old...I couldn't resist! I had to have them!
Love my baby girl!! I just want to sniff, kiss, and eat her up!

Finally Home.

It's so nice to finally be home! We were able to come home on Wednesday morning and it was great! I love the hospital, it's nice to recover and have the help, but it's also nice to finally be at home! I loved all my nurses and the cute staff at Riverton hospital. They were wonderful! After getting my staples out, going through the wonderful review of what to do and not to do with a newborn, and sticking her in her car seat (which she was NOT thrilled about), we were finally off.
Ethan has loved having Reese around. We are actually really surprised how well he has done. Maybe I'm speaking too soon, but so far he's been great with her. As far as Mr. Attitude still being present....he's still here, but just loves and kisses for Reese.
The last couple of days have been nice and relaxing. My wonderful hubby takes good care of us and I'm a little nervous for tomorrow when he goes back to work. We've caught up on some much needed sleep and bummed around at the house. This recovery has been much easier, I can't complain. I can't believe that it's already been a week. I want life to stand still for a little bit so that it doesn't go by too fast.
It's a little crazy to think that I have a family of four now! I love having Reese here and watching Ethan call her "sweetheart," "baby girl," "peanut," and any other name he hears us call her. I love those chubby cheeks of hers and can't seem to get enough kisses on them! She's so much fun to have around! I love my cute little family!

Reese Audrey Jenkins

She's finally here! She made her appearance yesterday at 9:17 a.m. via my wonderful scheduled c-section!! The stats:
7 lbs. 3 oz.
18 in. long
and lots of dark brown hair!!
The day started off with next to no sleep. How are you supposed to sleep knowing you are about to have a baby the next morning? We arrived at the hospital around 7:30 and were taken in to get all prepped. By 8:30 my sis showed up, 8:50 I was taking a walk to the freezing O.R. room, and by 9:17 a.m. she was here.
It was a great process, much easier then the 20 hours of labor and then c-section with Ethan. We were back in my recovery room by about 9:50. She immediately was trying to suck anything in sight...her blanket, Kurt, and her hands. She downed some formula instantly and has been a porker since!
After about 45 minutes in recovery we were moved to my post maternity room, where we've just been chillin. They gave her a bath in my room which was awesome because I got to see everything! She's been an angel since. We love her so much! Ethan has been a great big brother so far. When we first got out of the operating room Kurt called him and he wanted to talk to his baby sister. It took some convincing that she didn't talk and that he just needed to come see her. Since then she's been mauled with lots of hugs and kisses from him! We are so excited that she is finally here and part of our family!!
I'm amazed each time how this little person can be inside of me. It's crazy how instant your love is for them!! I love this baby girl and can't wait to watch her grow! I'm SO glad she's ours!
