May Happenings

I can't believe it's already the end of May. Where did time go!? I guess that's a good thing since we are on a count down for my mom and dad to come. They are at less than five weeks now! I can't wait! Here is a recap of what we've been up to this past month. BEWARE this is a picture over load.

When we got home from Aruba we had my sweet Grandma's funeral
We also came home to our new family of 8 and two dogs. Phil and Alana moved in while we were gone and have been living with us for the past couple of weeks. They closed on their house this past weekend and were able to move into their beautiful home. It's kind of strange not having them here now. The boys enjoyed having a constant friend all the time.
I had a wonderful Mother's Day. Kurt and the kids made me breakfast in bed and made sure that I had a great day. I love Mother's Day. I love that mom's aren't forgotten in all the hustle and bustle that we do. I sure appreciate my mom and realized so much more after I became a mother. I never realized how much they do.
We made a visit to the dentist....
turned 21 months....
Took the boat out and enjoyed some awesome weather. We tried our new surf board and even got Ethan to go out on the wakeboard with Kurt.
Cleaned mom and dad's garage and got the pool ready for summer...
Had eye appointments...
Ethan and Preston graduated Pre School. I can't believe I'm going to have a Kindergartner. He loved school and his two teachers Miss Vesta and Miss Becky.
Then last Thursday we headed down for some warm weather in St. George. We partied with my sister and her family while we left my brother on his own to move into their new house....(we are mean). We did a lot of this....
Went to dinner at the Pizza Factory (always a must)....
Did some indoor pool swimming due to white caps at the lake...
Went on a dinner date with no kids....thanks Paige & Ellie.
And did more of this...
Mastered new tricks...
 And crashed.
And lastly after a failed attempt at boating on Saturday we finally made it out on Monday to Quail Creek before making the four hour drive back home! We had lots of fun spending the weekend with The Hogan's and made some fun memories on the boat.
That my friends, is the end of my picture over load. Now on to June!

Aruba

Kurt and I decided to do something different for our 8th wedding anniversary, so we headed to ARUBA! Neither of us had ever been and thought it would be relaxing and fun. Thanks to my sister who took the kids for a few nights and to my brother and his wife for moving in to my house and watching the kids for the entire week. No seriously they moved in! (OK well their new house is almost finished and they sold their old one so they are living with us for a few weeks. It couldn't have worked out any better for us!)

We flew out EARLY Saturday morning at 1:00 A.M. and arrived in Aruba at 12:30 p.m. Everything went as planned besides our luggage with all of our clothes not making it on our flight so we tried to survive the 90 degree temp and major HUMIDITY in our jeans. Luckily it arrived at the hotel that night. Our car was a piece of crap, but the resort was amazing! We had a full Villa so we were able to buy groceries and make breakfast and lunches.
Most of the time we lounged at the pool or beach....
We hit up some yummy dinners including Texas de Brazil, Hard Rock, and Ruth's Chris.
We went on a Catamaran and went snorkeling at a few reefs and then we chose to Snuba Dive at the Antilla Shipwreck. It was SO awesome. It was one of my favorite parts of the trip. The ship was awesome and the water was clear so we could see everything. If you don't know what Snuba diving is, you have a 20 foot air line and your tanks stay above you on a raft. So it's a mix between snorkeling and scuba diving.
We also had a couples massage, went on a tube ride in the ocean, did a little parasailing, and enjoyed meals by the pool.
We did get some very sad news while we were there! My sweet Grandma passed away on Wednesday morning. I was able to see her on Thursday before I left and knew that it was possible for it to happen while we were gone. Luckily the viewing was Sunday and the funeral yesterday, so we made in time for both! I will miss my fun, spunky, sweet Grandma! I loved her so much but am so glad she's not suffering anymore. Here is a picture just a month ago we took on her birthday!
Despite the bad news we still had so much fun and it was nice just being the two of us and doing whatever we felt like. I wouldn't say Aruba is the most beautiful place I've seen, but the resort was amazing. I can't believe it's been 8 years since our wedding day. Each day just gets better and better and I love spending time with my hubs! It was a great anniversary trip!
