Aruba

Kurt and I decided to do something different for our 8th wedding anniversary, so we headed to ARUBA! Neither of us had ever been and thought it would be relaxing and fun. Thanks to my sister who took the kids for a few nights and to my brother and his wife for moving in to my house and watching the kids for the entire week. No seriously they moved in! (OK well their new house is almost finished and they sold their old one so they are living with us for a few weeks. It couldn't have worked out any better for us!)

We flew out EARLY Saturday morning at 1:00 A.M. and arrived in Aruba at 12:30 p.m. Everything went as planned besides our luggage with all of our clothes not making it on our flight so we tried to survive the 90 degree temp and major HUMIDITY in our jeans. Luckily it arrived at the hotel that night. Our car was a piece of crap, but the resort was amazing! We had a full Villa so we were able to buy groceries and make breakfast and lunches.
Most of the time we lounged at the pool or beach....
We hit up some yummy dinners including Texas de Brazil, Hard Rock, and Ruth's Chris.
We went on a Catamaran and went snorkeling at a few reefs and then we chose to Snuba Dive at the Antilla Shipwreck. It was SO awesome. It was one of my favorite parts of the trip. The ship was awesome and the water was clear so we could see everything. If you don't know what Snuba diving is, you have a 20 foot air line and your tanks stay above you on a raft. So it's a mix between snorkeling and scuba diving.
We also had a couples massage, went on a tube ride in the ocean, did a little parasailing, and enjoyed meals by the pool.
We did get some very sad news while we were there! My sweet Grandma passed away on Wednesday morning. I was able to see her on Thursday before I left and knew that it was possible for it to happen while we were gone. Luckily the viewing was Sunday and the funeral yesterday, so we made in time for both! I will miss my fun, spunky, sweet Grandma! I loved her so much but am so glad she's not suffering anymore. Here is a picture just a month ago we took on her birthday!
Despite the bad news we still had so much fun and it was nice just being the two of us and doing whatever we felt like. I wouldn't say Aruba is the most beautiful place I've seen, but the resort was amazing. I can't believe it's been 8 years since our wedding day. Each day just gets better and better and I love spending time with my hubs! It was a great anniversary trip!

You look BEAUTIFUL in every picture...seriously, so good! And I love the shorts.
I'm so excited to try snuba with you. To not have the heavy tank on your back sounds great!
And your kids are always a delight to have stay with us...I love them! Love you!

How nice to sit and relax and do whatever YOU want to do! You even got to go to the bathroom by YOURSELF!!
HAPPY 8th!
I'm so SAD about your Grandma! I'm glad your Mom had some time with her while she came home for a bit. And I am certain she was so HAPPY to be with your Grandpa again! Bitter SWEET!
