Drive In

We took Ethan to a drive in for his first time on Saturday night! We used to hit the drive in all the time when we were first married, but this was the first time we attempted with Ethan. We went and saw "Despicable Me." It was pretty cute, not as a cute or entertaining as Toy Story 3, but a fun movie. Ethan loved chillin on the love sac with us, with his own candy, drink, and toys. Sorry for the crappy pics, apparently my camera was on some ultra sensitive-no flash setting. Oops!

36 Weeks

I'm finally 36 weeks and I look like a huge ole' elephant! I just went to the doc on Tuesday and I'm officially on his calendar to have my c-section on Sunday, August 1st. I can't say I would complain if she came earlier, but I guess the longer she's in there the better. Three more weeks to hang in there....I should be happy that my doc is taking me almost a week early. Ethan came two weeks early so maybe she might make her debut the same way! Guess only time will tell! Until then, I will carry this huge old belly everywhere with me!

The 4th Celebrations

Our fourth of July weekend started off by heading to East Canyon. Kurt's parents have a time share there and we are lucky to go up every year. When we got there the power was out and had been out for about an hour or so...we figured it wouldn't be long until it went back. We were SO wrong. By Saturday around 1:00p.m. the power finally came back on. It was worth the fun of sitting in the dark all night and cooking french toast in car port outlets around the timeshare!

Saturday we hit the lake. Ethan loves the boat and for some reason listens much better when we are on it. We put him out in the new tube we got thinking he would love it, but I guess his dad's love for water sports might not come for another year or two. I love boating and wish that I could have got out and done some things, maybe if I heal quickly from the baby I can get one good wake boarding day in! Guess we will have to see! Nothing but a fun day on the lake.
After a long day on the lake Ethan, Bennett, and Grandpa Russ crashed hard ten minutes into the movie "Up."
Saturday night we headed into Hennifer for the annual fireworks show. I don't know why we choose to sit so close every year, but next year I will remember to move further away. After two fireworks didn't shoot up but straight at us, Russ jumping out of the way for one, ash falling on us in the back of the truck, and me getting decked in the face from some of the cardboard off of one of the fireworks, I was glad it was over. For some odd reason I still look forward to going back next year!
On Sunday we headed to Midway to spend the last little bit of the weekend with my family. WeBBQ, played games, and did our own fireworks. The Hogans were the only smart ones sitting in their car not eating smoke. The kids enjoyed it, but had to be all wrapped up in blankets because of this crazy weather! It's the 4th of July, we shouldn't be in jackets and sweatshirt!
Monday we woke up, relaxed, headed to the park, grabbed some subway, and off to another park to play. I've always loved the 4th of July. Even with all the craziness and switching between families. It also makes me really appreciate those who serve for our country, I'm so grateful to live in a free country, I take it for granted much too often. Hope you all had a Happy 4th!

Summer Fun

Oh I love the summer! Here is what we've been up to the past couple of days. We can't get enough of the sun!

Flying dads new airplane....

...Finally getting Grandma and Grandpa's pool up and running!! After lots of ordeals, we can now enjoy it for the rest of the summer! The kids were in heaven! Here we come pool...you are my best friend in the summer. With this heat and an oven cooking inside of me, I think we will be here frequently.

...and lounging in the backyard. Ethan played in his new pool for three hours and still didn't want to get out. Me...well I enjoyed a good book and soaked up some rays!

Happy Father's Day

Father's day always makes you step back and really realize how important each and every dad is. I hope that my hubby had a good Father's Day. It started out by letting him some what sleep in. Church at nine doesn't give you much time to sleep in, but at least it was more then on a normal day. We made him breakfast and let him open his card. Ethan continually told him Happy Father's Day and even made him something cute in nursery...which he Ethan kept for himself. I felt bad that there wasn't a special surprise for him to open, but he got his Father's Day gift a few weeks ago...this new BBQ, so we enjoyed some yummy burgers last night. I love you babe and appreciate all that you do for our little family! You are an amazing hubby and dad!! Ethan idolizes you and can't wait for you to get home every day. Thank you for being so wonderful!
It wouldn't be right if I didn't tell my dad how much I love him and wish him a Happy Father's Day all the way in Japan. Thanks dad for being the best example, friend, and dad anyone could ask for. You are an amazing person who I always look up to! I love you!

And to my wonder father in law Russ, thank you for all that you do!! You are an amazing example, friend, and great grandpa to Ethan. Thank you for all that you do. I love you!

Seven Peaks

Monday I ventured with my sis down to Seven Peaks. I've never been, so I thought it would be a fun day. It was a cute little water park, and even better that Ethan was free and I had a free admission coupon. At first, as always, Ethan was hesitant but after taking him down some of slides on my lap, he was giggling and begging to go on more. I love days like these where you have something planned and your little guy LOVES it! To more hot summer days..can't wait!
and this is what an exhausted 3 year old looks like on the ride home. He didn't even make it out of the parking lot!
